The YK Pao School Global Education Forum (GEF) is an annual event organised by Pao School’s Professional Learning Centre (PLC). The PLC was founded in September 2017 to establish YK Pao School as a Centre for Excellence in professional development for educators in China and across the region. In line with the school’s goals of continual development, the PLC aims to improve the quality of teaching in all classrooms by providing teachers with ongoing performance reviews, skill development opportunities, and access to participate in internal and external professional growth offerings such as GEF.
The 2021 YK Pao School Global Education Forum, built around the theme "Education for the Future," will take place over two days.
On the first day, October 28th, the focus will be on Project-Based Learning (PBL). On this day, experts on PBL from Shanghai and Changning district and selected representatives from other schools will be invited to support training for the Middle School Humanities department. On October 29th, the Forum will focus on Professional Development. Due to epidemic prevention and control requirements, similarly to last year, the event will be open to internal staff in the form of online workshops with overseas guest speakers and face-to-face discussions with workshop leaders in Shanghai. This year, the Forum will explore three core themes: education with technology, education for the interconnected world, and education in a time of change. The workshops will cover a variety of topics including, EdTech, PBL, STEAM teaching, Multi-cultural competence, and Key Competencies.
