Joining hands with TTI Success Insights, Pao School has launched a Professional Development Centre supporting the career development of faculty.
Pao School firmly believes that the core purpose of education is to develop the whole person. We teach our students to be life-long learners. It is imperative that teachers set good examples for students, showing them what it means to be dedicated to a life of learning.
Our promise
Pao School's inaugural Global Education program was held from 30-31 March. On this occasion, the school launched its new Professional Development Centre for faculty, which will provide our teachers with opportunities for career development in the future that include training courses and certifications. The Professional Development Centre will take the quality of instruction at Pao School to a whole new level. Not only will it provide a robust internal support system for our teachers, it will also cater to students' needs. Further, the Centre will be at the forefront of our efforts to develop off-campus courses for the surrounding community as we strive to become a leading school in China.
Our Actions
Actions speak louder than words. With that in mind, Pao School launched its mid-level management leadership training programme in mid-March. Highlighting the programme were workshops on both the Wuding and Songjiang campuses, focusing on developing self-awareness, self-reflection, effective communications and teamwork skills. More than 30 people participated in the two workshops.
Our wish
Pao School hopes that all of its teachers can be life-long learners. Teaching is a career highly relevant to our everyday lives; our educational experiences in childhood have a formative effect on our future lives. We encourage all of our teachers to be open-minded, boost their self-awareness and inspire a passion for learning in students. When teachers are outstanding, the whole Pao community benefits: students, parents, the teachers themselves and the overall school - as its name becomes more prestigious.
Teaching methods
With its focus on developing professional management capabilities amongst faculty, Pao School is working with TTI Success Insights, one of the world's premier talent development institutions. TTI Success Insights offers research-based, validated assessment and coaching tools that help organisations meet their talent management needs. TTI has a wide variety of tools to develop managerial skills in working professionals, such as the well-known DISC personality test, individual development report and various workshops. Training with TTI will help Pao teachers hone their skills so that they can provide even better instruction to students.
Our Believe
Pao School's core values are compassion, integrity and balance. Pao teachers apply these core values as they adjust their teaching methods to meet the needs of different students. After all, every student is unique, and certain teaching methods which work well with one student will not be effective with another. According to TTI Success Insights founder Bill Bonnstetter; every person is like an iceberg. If we develop our skills effectively, we can all one day become a shining diamond.
Currently, Pao School teachers and managers use their own ways to help students develop. In the future, Pao School will use its Professional Learning Centre to provide standardised top-tier training not only to its own faculty - but also to teachers from throughout China. The Professional Development Centre will become a hub of educational research and development, helping Pao School to become one of the nation's premier educational institutions.
