A person's talent begins to develop from childhood.

Schools are for education, and teachers serve as educators. Yet how do we educate effectively?

In today's world we have to recognize the educational environment is changing. Teachers are no longer the sole channel through which students gain knowledge. Channels are multifold now. Students' ability to obtain and apply knowledge should not be underestimated. Compared to what is often assumed, children actually have stronger cognitive abilities and are less resistant to unfamiliar concepts. They are able to accept new technology, scientific concepts and other new things faster than we adults.

We teachers in Pao School need to teach ourselves how get along well with children so that we can teach them more effectively and provide high-quality education. It is our goal that Pao students develop comprehensively, not simply achieve high test scores. In order to reach that goal, we must respect children's talents and personalities. We need to listen to what they say, share our experiences with them, be respectful of them, and guide them. We should help them to better understand the world and themselves, so that they become independent, healthy and strong people. We must channel Pao School's core values of compassion, integrity and balance in order to provide true whole-person education.

As educators, teachers help students learn how to succeed. The success of students is thus also the success of teachers. The purpose of education is not to make different people grow more similar, but rather to help different people get along with other in spite of their differences, and develop their respective personalities and talents. Students benefit from the knowledge they gain from teachers and in some ways students help teachers to grow too.
