Into Wuding｜My Favorite Place on Campus

My favourite place on Wuding Campus is the gym. It is a big and exciting place where I can run, jump, and play sports with my friends. I love playing tag there because there is so much space to run and dodge. The floor is smooth so I can move fast without tripping.

The gym is special to me because it helps me stay strong and healthy. I enjoy PE classes there, where we learn new skills and play fun games. It makes me happy to be active.

Another reason I love the gym is that it is a place where I can callenge myself. When I run faster or escape being tagged I feel proud. The gym is not just a place to play - it helps me stay active, build my strength and improve my physical and mental health.

The first time I stepped on the volleyball court at YK Pao School, some older girls on the school team were practising after class. Their sneakers squeaked against the court, the ball thudded like heartbeats, and they shouted out loud – “You’ve got this!” “Great save!” At that moment, it became my absolute favorite place on campus.

Inspired by the older girls, I started practicing volleyball myself. Every day, I'd head to the volleyball court. As a greenhand, I’d mimic the older girls’ moves, and practice serves against the wall. Other days, I’d just sit cross-legged on the floor, watching them play and dreaming of the day I’d wear a team jersey.

Days passed, and my passion for volleyball only intensified. The volleyball court has become a constant source of inspiration and energy to me. It’s not just a place for fun and play, but also a place to grow up together. Volleyball is a team sport – we’d practice as a team, support each other, and cheer for each other’s success.

So, that is why I like the volleyball court best, a place filled with fun, friendship and growth.

The gymnasium, my favourite place, is more than just a location; it's a vibrant temple of energy. In my eyesight, Pao School's gym isn’t only where you can move around, it is where your sports dream begins. When it is break time your teachers will kindly open the gym for you to practice your skills. They will teach you a variety of skills from dancing to playing we can do tryouts to go in school teams we can train for our likes and we will have experiences to participate in competitions and make good scores for our school. Here, we are like joyful birds piercings through the sky shining like a bright star and bringing hope to the whole earth.

 As I step inside, the air, thick with determination, wraps around me like a warm embrace. The rhythmic thuds of running feet and the clinking of weights create a symphony of effort. The vast open space, filled with people chasing their fitness goals, is a bustling universe of motivation. Here, every workout is a battle, and every drop of sweat is a victory flag. The fluorescent lights, like beacons of hope, illuminate the path to self-improvement. In this haven, I find not only physical strength but also a sanctuary for my mind, making it truly special.

My favourite place on campus is the comics corner in the library. I like it because it is very quiet and my place of retreat. The comics corner is full of comics which is my favorite kind of book. It can be a place where you can pass time and hang out with your friends.  You can feel the fuzzy carpet, smell the musty smell of books which I like, and hear whispers from friends.  When I go there, I feel calm, happy and chill.  The time flies when I read there and I want to read more.  You can lean on the shelf or lie down to read and hear the sounds of pages flipping and kids shuffling feet.  It is very comfortable.  I can make myself at home in the comics corner.  

My favorite place on campus is Pomelo. It is a special room where students can go whenever they feel sad, stressed, confused or just need someone to talk to. Whenever you have any worries about friendship, schoolwork, teachers or even family, you can choose to visit Pomelo to share your feelings.

The teacher in Pomelo is always very kind to listen to our problems and gives helpful advice and makes you feel better and relieved. We can share our thoughts, no matter how big or small, without any fear. It is a place where we can relax, take deep breaths, feel safe and find comfort.

Pomelo is also a fun place! There are toys and games that help us relax. Sometimes, when I feel nervous or upset, playing with the toys quietly helps me calm down.

I love Pomelo because it is a safe and comfortable place just like a tree hollow where you can understand your feelings and find possible solutions. Whenever I feel anxious or unhappy, I know Pomelo is there for me to speak openly, and leave feeling lighter and happier.
