In this serene campus, high school boarding life serves as a cherished stage for students, filled with vibrant dreams. Entering Songjiang Campus feels like stepping into a lively painting, where one can capture the unique charm of the surroundings through the students' eyes, embracing the spirit of youth and the warmth of friendship.

My favourite corner on campus isn’t really a corner at all—it’s the swimming pool. I go there every day after class to train. Once the afterschool activities are over, the water sparkles in the sunlight, filled with the laughter of friends and the occasional ‘screams’ of someone being playfully pushed in. The pool holds so many wonderful memories for me: the playful teasing and jokes among teammates, the cheers during competitions, the seemingly endless training sessions, and the splashes that accompany every dive. Every year a few people leave and new ones join, but the pool remains a place of cherished memories.

My favourite corner on campus is the B House Common Room. I like to call it the ‘happy home’ of the dorm because it’s a place where you can do just about anything: study, eat snacks, work on puzzles, draw, play music, gossip, or even play board games.

The Common Room serves as our activity hub and a space to relax and recharge. After a long day of classes, sitting on the couch with friends to chat and unwind makes all our worries disappear. It’s where we hold all our house events, from monthly meetings and gift exchanges to house dinners. This creates a warm, home-like atmosphere at school.

I feel that there’s something truly magical about this place. You never feel lonely here; any questions or uncertainties you have can be easily addressed with the support of friends and teachers. The Common Room really is a sanctuary for our spirits and plays a vital part of our school experience.

My favourite corner on campus is the dormitory. After a long day filled with classes and activities, I really appreciate having a quiet personal space, and the dorm provides just such a warm and relaxing atmosphere. In A House, there are often some snacks around, and my friends and I enjoy chatting comfortably, especially when we are tackling homework together during evening study sessions. The ‘vibe’ is always cheerful.

I also love those moments after finishing tech class, when we share funny stories for about half an hour, or during exam week when everyone gathers to study together. Such times really help foster a sense of belonging among us.

A few pairs of tables and chairs in the corridor outside S204 / A cozy corner in the biology lab where the axolotl likes to curl up / Every little nook in the library / Except for the corners where friend groups meet in the evening / The only square table in the dining hall that faces the basketball court / The windowsill outside the practice room where squirrels scurry by / The seats under the floor-to-ceiling windows in the IB Art Center / The swing under the cherry blossom tree in spring / The corridor leading to the math building next to the ginkgo tree in autumn.

My favourite corner on campus is the outdoor corridor on the second floor of the teaching building. I think it’s the most beautiful spot on campus, it offers different views at various times of day and throughout the seasons. In autumn and winter, the corridor is surrounded by golden leaves. Standing there, with a gentle breeze blowing and sunlight streaming in, I can look out and see vibrant shades of yellow, orange, red, and green. It feels like experiencing all four seasons at once.

My favourite corner on campus is the library, which feels like my personal sanctuary. With my headphones on and music playing, I can dive into different areas of knowledge without distraction. This corner has a wonderfully quiet atmosphere that helps me study effectively. Whether I’m reading by myself or chatting with friends, it’s the perfect place to spark creativity and achieve focus. Every time I visit the library, I feel a sense of peace and satisfaction, as if time stretches infinitely, giving me plenty of room to think and grow.

My favourite corner on campus is the Learning Commons. There are rehearsals every week, which include all the drama students. Every time I'm in the Learning Commons, I see everyone filled with energy, bursting with inspiration, and really dedicated to rehearsing their pieces. It brings me so much joy to see my fellow drama classmates all working towards the same goal of perfecting their performances. The Learning Commons is like a hub for drama enthusiasts, fostering connections and friendships across grades. It creates a special chemistry and spark among us. A senior once said that what she loves most about drama is how it brings together people who share the same passion, and that some even find lifelong friends through it. I completely agree; I’ve met so many friends from different grades here and formed genuine friendships, which I cherish deeply.

I feel a personal attachment to this space. Back at the Hongqiao Campus, my favourite place was the auditorium, where I created some of my best middle school memories and first discovered my love for drama. So, for me, the LC feels like a continuation of my journey with theatre.
