Community Service
In line with Pao School's mission, all campuses actively participate in community service projects and events. Projects include fundraising, helping the elderly with arts and crafts, and visiting local schools to promote social inclusion.
For the Double Ninth Festival, Primary students performed Chinese and Western music for the elderly in Wan Village, while Middle School Community Service students began a long-term elderly care project at a nursing home. Students crafted shell-inlay bracelets with the elderly, while enjoying their conversation and companionship. The Pao High School weekend boarding students visited the Songjiang District Social Welfare Institute to host tea parties for the elderly there, sharing the experiences of the old folks and listening to their wisdom on cherishing their teenage years.
October is Breast Cancer Prevention Month. The ‘Pink Kids’ at Pao School raised funds for this cause through a bracelet sale, donating proceeds to the Shanghai Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Care Center. This 10-year service-and-learning activity has seen growing parental involvement, which further inspires students to embody the school's values in their actions.

Wellbeing Day Carnival
To celebrate October as Wellbeing Month, the primary school organized a ‘Wellbeing Day Carnival,’ which offered students a variety of activities focused on this theme. These included writing letters of thanks at a Gratitude Tree; connecting paper rings to represent kind acts in a Kindness Chain; and exploring better ways to express their emotions when communicating with adults at the Feelings Scale. Through these activities, students enhanced their social and teamwork skills, with an emphasis on the importance of wellbeing.
Y1 Family Afternoon
Every year, the primary school hosts its Y1 Family Afternoon. During this event, parents join their children in playing games and solving problems together. By the end of the first month in Year 1, students have become accustomed to the school environment. This activity allows parents to participate in the new learning world of their children, by seeing what takes place in the classroom. This enables them to better support their children's educational journey.
