Summer Concerts
The summer concerts at three campuses in May celebrated the students' talent, dedication, and teamwork through diverse musical performances. Ranging from traditional Chinese music to Western orchestral pieces, Jazz, and Rock bands, the concerts offered a rich tapestry of musical genres.
Primary School
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
The students from Year 3 to Year 5 poured their hearts into the enchanting world of "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" during their recent theatre performances. From CCA practices to lunchtime run-throughs, the students spent endless hours preparing and rehearsing the show. Their dedication and hard work were evident in every scene and song.
House Day Celebration
On June 1st, Pao Primary School enjoyed a fantastic House Day celebration. Students engaged in a variety of fun activities including quizzes, dance games, obstacle courses, arts and crafts, and more. They were encouraged to work together and show support, fostering a sense of unity across the school.
Middle School
" High School Musical "
Pao Middle School recently showcased a performance of the musical "High School Musical," a production that involved a remarkable team effort. A total of 102 of Pao’s Middle School students took part, including 63 actors, 8 members of the production team, and 31 designers, making it the largest group yet.
Children’s Day Charity Event
In recognition of Children's Day, Pao Middle School organized a series of activities to celebrate throughout the school. The day featured a charity sale, auction, folk experiences, and competitions between the houses, themed “House Points for Love”. The whole event aimed to support education at the partner school in Yunnan, with proceeds from the charity event going towards the construction of Bangbie Primary School.
Dragon Boat Festival Activity
In celebration of the Dragon Boat Festival, the school decorated the campus by hanging mugwort and calamus. They provided zongzi, seasonal delicacies, and organised a zongzi-making activity. Folk masters from the catering team were invited to guide students in making zongzi in the canteen.
High School
Humanities Workshop
This school year Pao School introduced the Humanities Workshop, a series where scholars from esteemed institutions, like Fudan University, Shanghai Foreign Studies and Chinese Academy of Sciences, deliver lectures on various humanities and social science topics. Introduced by the High School Deputy Principal, Zang Na, the workshop covers topics like China-US relations and the current international situation, the ideal country in Chinese classical literature, film culture, reductionism and emergence theory. The lectures sreceived positive feedback from students. In June, Shi Mengjie, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Local Chronicles Society, explored the century-long relationship between coffee and Shanghai. Meanwhile, Professor Gao Menghe from Fudan University's Department of Cultural Relics and Museology discussed Sanxingdui culture, showcasing how archaeology serves as a window to present a comprehensive view of ancient and modern China.

Swim For Love
On June 15th Pao school held the annual YK Pao Swim for Love event at the Songjiang Campus. This year a mix of aquatic and land sport challenges were introduced as an addition to swimming to expand activities beyond the pool. All proceeds from this event are donated to the Xingta Swim Club, and as always, the goal is to continue to provide care and support to those with autism.
TOK and CSP Exhibitions
On June 6, the annual Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Exhibition at the school's gym, showcased the work of 118 DP1 students. The exhibition covered a wide range of topics, from ethical issues in technology to the nature of historical knowledge. Additionally, the Y11 Collaborative Science Project (CSP) exhibition, themed as MythBusters, highlighted the work of students who debunked popular myths through innovative presentations. The students selected a variety of interesting popular myths to debunk, from exploring the wind resistance of different building materials to experimenting with the explosive potential of oranges.

Awards for Sports
Among the greatest achievements this year are the remarkable victories in the U15 SSSA Football League, where both the Boys and the Girls teams won 1st place. The U15 Girls Basketball team secured 2nd place in their competetion. The Pao Middle School Girls Volleyball Team defeated SHSID in the Shanghai Schools U19 (high school) Volleyball League Final. The U19 Boys Football Team achieved top place in the SSSA Football Competition for the regular season.
The Pao School Rowing Team finished 2nd in the Shanghai Rowing Race.
Bella Xu (Y3) achieved Group C Champion in the the 4th SSSA Golf League.
In the "Youth" Cup Primary and Middle School Fencing Games:
