The eminent children’s nonfiction author and artist, Steve Jenkins, will visit Pao School on February 27, 2017. Steve Jenkins has written and illustrated many picture books for young readers, including the Caldecott Honor-winning What Do You Do with a Tail Like This? Mr Jenkins’ extraordinary and detailed cut- and torn-paper collage illustrations have been called “stunning, eyepopping, inventive, gorgeous, masterful, extraordinary, playful, irresistible, compelling, engaging, accessible, glorious, and informative.”
The impressive collection of various papers is one of the reasons that makes his illustrations stand front and center amongst thousands of others in the world of children’s book illustrations. Many of Steve Jenkins’ handmade papers are from Asia, where there is a strong tradition of paper-making. To make the memory of his visit unique and unforgettable, the Primary Library Team is collecting papers that come with special texture, pattern, or materials, for Steve Jenkins.
Please pass your contribution, no bigger than A4 size, to the Library before February 24 (Friday.) Your donation might be the inspiration for his next book!
