On April 24, China’s largest Chinese-language web portal and online media company Sina held the 2016 'International School Choice Tour' in Shanghai. YK Pao School Headmaster Wu Zijian attended the event, delivering a speech on Pao School's unique approach to international education and speaking with by Sina’s reporters.

In his speech, Headmaster Wu pointed out that the Chinese and international aspects of bilingual education should be mutually compatible, illustrating with two strong examples - the school's annual 'Read to Feed' programme as well as the story of a curious student. In his interview, Mr Wu also introduced the origins of the name ‘YK Pao School’ and emphasised that an international programme should nurture a child's all-round development - the entire emotional, social, physical, and intellectual being, and should incorporate science and technology, music, sports, art, drama into its curricula as well as encourage innovation in order to cultivate a new generation of talent. Mr Wu also spoke on the recent fifth anniversary of the school’s PTA-run sporting club Run-A-Way (RAW), which organises activities to promote a healthy mind and body and fully exemplifies ‘exercise persistently, use sparingly, work diligently,’ the motto of shipping tycoon and philanthropist Sir Yue-Kong Pao, after whom the school was named.
