Pao School, student-led debate club Project 21st and the Lincoln-Douglas Institute will be holding the Shanghai International Lincoln Douglas and Policy Debate Invitational Tournament on August 6-7!
Part of Project 21st's initiative to promote greater emphasis on the importance of debate in studentlife, and to better incorporate debate in school curriculums across China, the tournament is a chance for debaters across China to participate in a higher standard of competition. Pao School's Year 11 Clementine Lee currently serves as Project 21's leader of policy and heads the Lincoln-Douglas Project.

Debate topics
Topics will pertain to Lincoln-Douglas Debate and Policy
Format
Lincoln-Douglas Debate (LD), a type of one-on-one debate format primarily emphasising logic, ethical values, and philosophy.
Policy Debate (PD), in which participants deliberate as to whether the government should implement a policy. This format is known for its rigorous review of evidence and rapid-fire delivery.

Training
