The end of the school year may be fast approaching, but Pao School’s maths students are showing no signs of slowing down!
This past week saw Year 3, 4 and 5 students participate in various exciting maths activities, engaging in a number of challenges that included building a sturdy paper tower as quickly as possible and estimating the geographical area of Shanghai given a map’s scale factor. Year 5 students combined the skills they learned this past semester – area, volume, capacity – with their ingenuity to solve real-life maths problems. Meanwhile, Year 4 students performed simple arithmetic while shooting hoops on the basketball court, and Year 3 students used their own bodies as measuring tools to determine the area of a graph!
All students enjoyed putting their minds together, working as a team while encouraging and supporting each other in completing the different tasks, learning while having fun!
