Another successful session of YK Pao School’s Junior Chinese Summer Camp has concluded! The shy and cautious new campers that timidly looked on at their teachers, afraid to speak, have now become confident Chinese speakers, even singing in Chinese at the camp’s talent show finale! In just two short weeks, campers have made tremendous progress in their language skills!
Such commendable achievement is the result of hard work by both teachers and students. Campers with a bilingual or English-speaking background often speak English at home. How then, can they learn Chinese in the most effective way? With this in mind, teachers have designed a unique, refreshing course that combines traditional Chinese culture, language and painting, singing and sports, eliminating the tediousness and monotony that often plagues language studies and helping students to stay focused and enjoy the learning process.
Learning Chinese requires effort and practice. We are confident the Junior Chinese Summer Camp can stimulate students’ enthusiasm and interest in learning Chinese and provide them with the tools they need for success in their future studies in Chinese.
