On 19 September, parents delivered a delightful performance of a skit written by The Characters, a group of parents who teach monthly lessons in English based on the eight character strengths of Pao School: compassion, integrity, balance, respect, responsibility, resilience, reflection and self-management.
Since its founding 18 months ago, The Characters has succeeded in helping kids discover and develop their own character traits. Indeed, the skit demonstrated the fruitful results of The Characters’ endeavours: The performance was interactive, creative, kids-cantered, team-oriented and most important of all – fun!
Character education is an integral part of Pao School’s mission to deliver whole-person education. We believe that every teacher is a character teacher and eventually every student will be a character teacher.
At the same time, offering effective character lessons requires the involvement of the entire community. For this reason, we welcome more parents to become involved in The Characters.
