Persistence, Sweat and Love
Three teams of teachers and students from Pao School participated in the Walk For Love charity event held 24 September by the China Linshan Charity Foundation in Shanghai Haiwan Forest Park. In this charity activity, teams of four aim to raise at least RMB 1,000. They have a limited amount of time to complete a walking course and must reach the finish line together.
Na Zang said: ‘10 kilometers at first seemed like a long journey, but we were in excellent spirits and enjoyed the sunny weather. We had no problem completing the course and we were happy they could contribute to charity. All the funds raised during the charity event will be donated to people in underdeveloped areas.’
Year 11 student Cici Han noted that Sir YK Pao said, ‘Exercise persistently, use sparingly, work diligently.’ Those wise words form the crux of the Pao School education, Cici said, adding: ‘As we walked in this charity event, Sir YK Pao’s words served as inspiration. We not only exercised, we persevered - and performed better thanks to the support we got from one another.’
