Met with more than 100 of the school’s volleyball players
During the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil, Lang Ping led the Chinese women’s volleyball team to the gold medal, the first time the team captured the top Olympic award in 12 years. The tenacious spirit of the Chinese women’s volleyball team, which came from behind to achieve victory, was remarkable. The persistence and outstanding work ethic they displayed mirrors Pao School’s own values. By inviting Lang Ping to meet with the school’s volleyball players, Pao School hopes to inspire students to challenge themselves and never give up the pursuit of excellence.
At the event, Lang Ping introduced the Chinese women’s volleyball team and had a friendly discussion with Pao students about volleyball. She was impressed with the students’ knowledge of the game. With the mission of whole person education, Pao School encourages students to exercise and be actively involved with sports activities.
When Lang Ping learned that Pao School’s Primary Division has more than 150 volleyball players, comprising 15% of its overall students, she said she had never seen a school with so many volleyball players. She was impressed overall with how widespread athletics are at Pao School.
Lang Ping believes volleyball is a game that requires teamwork and agame that brings happiness. She said she hopes everyone can enjoy the sport.After the discussion ended, Pao School’s young volleyball players did somepractice exercises under Lang Ping’s watchful eye.
