On the morning of January 29, students and teachers from Pao School’s Secondary Division came together for the Chinese New Year cultural event.
The event featured a slew of well-received performances, opening with the folk music ensemble performing ‘The Legend of Mi Yue,’ followed by an energetic welcome to the year of the monkey by the drum ensemble. Dance numbers ‘Singing along with the Tambourine,’ ‘Full Moon’ and ‘Catch me if you can’ fully demonstrated the vitality and youthful energy of Pao School students. Humorous comic dialogue by students as well as mystery performances by teachers drew bursts of laughter from the audience, while ‘Thunderstorm’ emphasised the school’s focus on classical Chinese drama. Students also showcased traditional Han clothing, and Year 7’s ‘Earth Beat 2.0’ brought audiences to their feet.
This important New Year celebration was not only a visual sensation – it was a journey of dreams for our students, celebrating their achievements and reminding them that anything is possible if they let their dreams fly high!
