Recently, a football team comprised of Pao School parents and teachers took part in the Shanghai Masters’ Football competition finals. With great fighting spirit, they triumphed and reached their goal of advancing to the winners match. Amidst fierce competition, our football dads had become overly exhausted, failing to advance further into the finals, but the more they played, they more they enjoyed the game, and the stronger they became.
In 2014, a football team formed by Pao School fathers and teachers aged 40 and above, accepted an invitation to compete in the Shanghai Masters Cup. These fathers not only trained alongside their children, who were already members of the Pao School football team, but also established a team of 'Football Dads,' which now has over 30 members. These Football Dads, most of whom have played major stadium games in their lifetimes, were not only given the chance to renew their dreams of pursuing the sport, but also hoped to echo Pao School’s whole person education mission and grow together with their children. Under the leadership of former PTA Chair David Wang, Football Dads has overcome many challenges and rapidly became an important part of the Pao School community. The team meets regularly, actively participates in school events, and assists in their children’s football training.
With already a successful Masters Cup experience under their belts, our Football Dads team, comprised of new and existing Pao School parents, is now one year old and going strong. Football Dads aspires to be a well-known staple of the football community, and welcomes new members! Join us!
