This Friday marked the successful conclusion of the inaugural YK Pao School International Exchange Program. Francis Parker School students Olia Javidi and Isabele Levesque, along with visiting faculty member Sophia Dalton, wrapped up their two-week stay at YK Pao School. The students did a fantastic job of immersing themselves seamlessly into life at Pao School and took every opportunity to improve their Chinese.
This past October, 11 YKPS students and four faculty members visited six different schools in the US and the UK as the initial part of the exchange program. In March and April, YK Pao School reciprocated these wonderful visits by hosting six students and three faculty members from Eaglebrook, Charterhouse, Francis Parker and St. George's Schools. While the schools were all from the US and the UK, the range of international representation on campus was far greater. Over the past few months, we have hosted students from India, Indonesia, France, and Iran.
It has been a wonderful experience for Pao School students to meet students from all over the world and gain a more global perspective. For our visitors, it was an invaluable experience to immerse themselves in a Chinese school, practice their language skills and learn more about Chinese culture.
The 2014-2015 International Exchange Program was a huge success, and we look forward to building on this momentum in the months and years to come. Please stay tuned for more information about next year's exchange opportunities.
