At the John Harvard statue at Harvard with Ms. Leshman's former student, Elizabeth McDonnell who is a sophomore.
From February 6-14, 18 of YK Pao School's Y10 students traveled with Director of University Counseling Rhonda Leshman and University Counseling Assistant Miranda Lin on a tour of 14 US colleges and universities. Starting in Boston, the group visited Harvard, MIT, Boston University, Tufts, Northeastern University and Emerson. Then the group drove south to Rhode Island to visit Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Art & Design.
Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library at Yale University
Next stop was Connecticut to visit Yale, Wesleyan and Connecticut College. Braving the cold and the snow, the group moved into New York to see Marist College before driving into New York City. In addition to visiting Columbia, Barnard, New York University and Pratt Institute, the group also saw the Broadway show, "Honeymoon in Vegas," and do some last-minute shopping. Ms. Leshman is hoping to plan future university tours to the UK and West Coast of the US for interested Pao School students.
Columbia University, New York City
My purpose of the trip was to experience culture, life and standards of the best American universities. We were in contact with admission officers and the information they provided was very valuable for our further decisions. We personally experienced each of the schools and it's much more beneficial than simply visiting the website.

At Connecticut College
It was educational and fun at the same time. I learned a lot about applying to colleges and I was inspired to work harder in order to get into a college I like.
——Amber, Y10
I enjoyed most the activities (malls, Broadway), the admission offices and the city experience in general. The tour was extremely helpful. I now better understand the process of selecting schools, as well as the admission process.
