YK Pao School students Year 9 students Jack Gong and Stella Ban
On October 17-18, 2015, two Year 9 students participated in the 10th CTEA Cup held at Shanghai Experimental School. Launched by Hong Kong’s Creative Technology Education Association in 2008, the CTEA Cup is a robotics competition for young people.
Nearly 200 students from over 50 schools across Shanghai participated in the competition. Representative teams from each school designed, produced and programmed their own robots. Entrants then put their designs to the test using the designated routes determined onsite, making the necessary adjustments to their robots, including troubleshooting and debugging in order to keep their robots on the right path to get the finish line as quickly and accurately as possible. The competition was a great way to inspire students' interest in robotics technology and strengthen the integration of the information technology theory and practice. Pao School's Stella Ban and Jack Gong placed third with their entry.
