YK Pao School students tour Santa Clara University
On September 24, 2015, fifteen YK Pao School Y11 students and two faculty members from University & Career Counseling Office began their 9-day California University Tour in San Francisco. Students visited 19 different universities and colleges during the trip from the Bay area south to Los Angeles and east to the Claremont Colleges.

Participating students gained first-hand experience in American universities, visiting campuses, meeting with admission officers and current students there, and even having meals at the campus dining halls. The group visited some major tourist attractions in San Francisco and saw the long-running musical variety show, 'Beach Blanket Babylon'. They also heard from Maria Furtado, Executive Director of 'Colleges That Change Lives,' an organisation dedicated to the advancement and support of a student-centered college search process. The week ended with a visit to Universal Studios Hollywood.
Before this trip, I was confused about my college search because everything seemed quite vague to me. This trip helped me tremendously in terms of getting a better idea of what I want, and what kind of school is the best fit for me.
