Friday night saw over 200 of YK Pao School's Primary Division students perform at our annual Spring Concert to a packed audience.
The concert began with the Chinese Ensemble and Orchestra playing an arrangement of "Jasmine Flower." The audience was then treated to performances by Chinese Ensemble, Beginners Chinese Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, Rock Ensemble, Chinese Choir, English Choir, Friday Choir, Violin Groups, Cello Groups, Orchestra – not to mention Mr Rob's Y3 Percussion Ensemble.
The final performances brought together Orchestra, English Choir, Friday Choir and Wind Ensemble for and arrangement of "True Faith" by New Order, followed by the Primary concert premiere of the YK Pao School Song written by Bright Shen. This is the first time the orchestra has been augmented by woodwind, resulting in a very impressive sound. All that's missing are brass instruments before we can at last call it a "Symphony Orchestra"!
All the performances were very well-received with rapturous applause and the concert was a great success. Great job to all our students!
