This past Saturday, YK Pao School Primary Division's swimming team participated in a swim meet hosted by the Shanghai Bilingual School Sports Association, held at Shanghai High School. A total of seven schools participated. Our swimmers performed well, overcoming difficult moments to obtain remarkable results - in total, Pao School took home 5 gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 5 bronze medals!
Our little swimmers competed fiercely for an entire morning. Students wowed both teachers and parents with swimming skills they learned. Their technique and speed earned them some very enthusiastic cheering!
Many of our swimmers had only recently joined the team. For some, it was their first time completing a 50-meter swim including diving in competition. Regardless of the final outcome, each swimmer swam their best, and deserved every encouragement and applause from students, teachers and parents. The competition undoubtedly did much to hone our swimmers' bodies and minds, and it was a happy and fulfilling experience for everyone.
It is our hope that all of our competitors at Primary Division enjoy swimming and maintain the same level of enthusiasm for the sport in the many years to come, and perhaps even make swimming a lifelong habit. Such returns are far more significant and valuable than any competition. We would like to thank the parents and the school for their support, and we hope to see our swim team continue to grow and become stronger with each year!
